HOW TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS MINDFULLY

We’ve all probably been there: we have a goal, we figured out our next steps, we start running towards our goal only to burn out and hit a massive wall shortly after. But it doesn’t have to be that way, if we know what we can do to avoid it.

1. FIGURE OUT YOUR FINAL GOAL

With your final goal I mean, what is it exactly that you want to achieve? You might think you want to have more money, but isn’t it a house you want to buy with the money? Or travel? Then your final goal is not money, but a house or that trip around the globe. Especially if you work with and believe in Law Of Attraction, it’s important to concentrate on exactly what you want. Money can be a tool to get that beautiful home or buy yourself a ticket to Bali, but if you focus on the end goal, there might be shortcuts to those goals. You might get offered a trip for free, or you might get asked to house sit someone's beautiful home. Without you actually having to work for that money first. So, ask yourself following questions:

What is it really that you want to achieve?

Do you put too much focus on how to get there instead of what you want to achieve?

2. FOCUS ON THE TASK AT HAND

Now that you are honest with your goals, focus on the task at hand and how you can make it fun. If you don’t enjoy the way to your goal, you will not reach it, and even if you would - you’d feel miserable. Enjoying your journey will also make it easier to persevere and keep going, and you will spend less time being anxious and wondering when you’ll finally arrive. It is the same as having fun in your daily life: the time passes way quicker, if you’re enjoying yourself versus time being spent at a dentist or staring at the wall at the job you hate. Life is short and there is no certain way to know if we’re going to reach the goals we aim for, but we won’t have any regrets if we enjoy the process & see where life takes us.

3. ACT BEFORE YOUR WORRIES ARRIVE

Thinking about all the possible What-If’s might be helpful at times, but sometimes it’s also good to first act and then figure it out on the way. Especially if you have a good idea, taking too much time thinking about it makes you come up with all the negatives and might stop you from acting on that idea in the first place. Don’t miss those amazing ideas, they came to you for a reason! Act first and if something goes south, you can still figure it out later.

I believe that inspiration will always try its best to work with you—but if you are not ready or available, it may indeed choose to leave you and to search for a different human collaborator.

Feeling creative and being passionate about your new project is awesome, and definitely a good time to do the work, but don’t forget to take your breaks. Especially during flow state, the state when we are so into our work that time and everything around us doesn’t seem to matter, it’s important to take breaks and take the time to look after your body. Did you eat? Did you drink? How about a short break from your screen. Even if it’s 5 or 10 minutes in-between, your body needs those breaks to process what you’ve been experiencing and doing. Your body also needs fuel to keep going. And don’t get me wrong, it does feel wrong and uncomfortable to just stop in the middle of a work session, where you’re so into what you’re doing, but if you don’t, you are very likely to burn out and your body will shut down, so you’ll have to rest much longer than only for those couple of minutes. So, eat your meals & drink your water!

& if you want to be able to keep going extra long: work out & meditate as well. Your body and mind will thank you.

    4. TAKE A BREAK IF YOU NEED ONE

Taking a longer break from when you need one and being unproductive is nothing to be ashamed of - it’s part of the process, and will work wonders in the long term, trust me.

    5. KEEP YOURSELF MOTIVATED AND EXCITED

Make a vision board, watch some inspiring content on YouTube, and remember why you started: because life is short and you want to have some fun.

So go, have fun and I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
